Clint Attebery is a landscape painter whose work captures the immediacy and emotional resonance of the natural world. Originally from Idaho, Attebery draws inspiration from the dramatic mountains and open meadows of the American West, as well as the forests and rocky coastlines of New England, where he now resides in Massachusetts. This dual connection to both regions deeply informs Attebery’s perspective, sense of light, and approach to composition.
Guided by a lifelong interest in nature and a concern for climate change, Attebery seeks to convey not only the visual character of a place but also its atmosphere and feeling. In addition to landscapes, Attebery also paints interiors and still life from direct observation, exploring the quiet presence of everyday spaces and objects.
Early artistic influences include Winslow Homer, John Singer Sargent, Edgar Degas, James McNeill Whistler, and Edward Hopper. Attebery works primarily in oil and watercolor, painting outdoors, from imagination, and from a combination of original reference photographs and sketchbook studies. Largely self-taught, Attebery has developed this practice through independent study, supplemented by selected online and in-person instruction with more experienced artists.
